I'm not familiar with the competitors' products but I wonder if one has stolen a march on the rest by producing an SLR for left-handed people. This image from the weekend paperComment Image

It’s a Specsaver ad which explains why the N***n name has been erased.

Can't help thinking Pentax missed a bit off a chance there with the KP.

Make it more symmetrical and have a larger (optional extra) grip, with built in shutter release ( and maybe a control wheel) available in left or right-hand options, connection sockets on the front of the body and there you go - the option of a left-handed camera!

That would have caused a bit of a stir.

SteveH!

Some people call me 'strange'.
I prefer 'unconventional'.
But I'm willing to compromise and accept 'eccentric'.

I think the name has been erased to obscure the fact that the image has been flipped. I remember this as a fairly common mistake in film days when it was easy to mount a slide back to front, in my world British cars often became left hand drive!

Ken Rockwell has had one on his home page for years - scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Yashica built a left-handed version of their Samurai (half-frame integrated film SLR): link

The Ricoh XR-X had the option of setting the self-timer to zero seconds, the self-timer button was on the left side of the camera.

The Exakta was an entire left handed camera system, but it hasn't survived.
Best regards, John
