Last of the autumn colours

If you have been looking at my more recent posts, you may be glad that this is going to be my last for this year of concentrated autumn hues! We had an outing to Thorp Perrow arboretum near Bedale, North Yorkshire to meet our daughter in the open air on the last day before the current lockdown. The weather was very kind and the colours and light were begging to be photographed! Hope these appeal All taken with K-1 and DFA 28-105.

4, 5 and 8 please.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thanks for your kind comments, all - the hardest job here was deciding which ones to leave out! It certainly was a lovely day in a lovely place.

Very nice use of colour(s) and light as subjects in these, even more so than in the previous sets. And some great compositions (13, 11, 7 in particular). 5 is my favorite I think, as it leans towards a form of abstractness...
P.S. Very good examples of actually using colour rather than recording it - 5 definitely takes me 'beyond'.

Thanks, Serge - I really appreciate your P.S. and think I'm beginning to understand your interpretation. My daughter chose no.2 as her favourite - she felt the leaves were sucking in their last ray of sunshine before finally falling to ground.
I personally like 4 and 12 - the light seems to give the leaves a life of their own emerging from the dark background.

Thank you, Gary. From an accomplished snapper such as yourself, that's a real compliment.

The sort of autumnal impressions that I wish I could create myself. You seem to be in tune with the season - light, colours, form, everything.

Thank you, Steve. Generally speaking, I do find autumn much more visually enjoyable than the other seasons, whether or not I'm out with the camera. Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and all that!
