" lower the sensor size". What do you mean by this.

So the K3 is 24 megapixel, as was the Nikon 5500 and others, but the 7500 and 500 are 20.5 megapixel. Newer cameras, lesser megapixels, better images.
K3, K3 II, 100MM 2.8 Macro, Sigma 10-20 3.5, Sigma 17-50 2.8, Nikon D7500, Tamron 150 600 G2

That's not sensor size, they're all APS-C, you mean resolution. A lower sensor size would be M4/3rds or the Q.

Not better images, but less pixels = faster frame rate. If you want better resolution of detail then more pixels are needed but slower frame rate. The top FF Canonikon cameras only achieve the advertised frame rates by reducing the image size to APS-C. On the other hand fewer but larger pixels give good low light sensitivity. There is no 'one solution fits all' but for what I do, landscape and macro, Pentax fits the bill nicely.

Indeed. The 500 and 750 have a lower megapixel count mainly because Nikon wanted faster fps.
