I do believe all this is related to some internal electrical problem.
I have an email into a local Pentax authorized repair asking for a quote on getting it fixed.
I hear the shutter click when the power returns meaning it was the shutter all the while.

I've recently started having a slew of problems with my K50. First the aperture demon flared up and I removed the shell and fixed it, I also soldered a wire that I had pulled while removing the case.
Everything worked for a couple of weeks or so then it occasionally dies while using it. Power just goes blank. After a few minutes power returns. Now today the auto focus just won't work. It will not focus in auto focus.
Also.................the manual switch to change to manual focus will not move. It will go to continuous and back to AF but not to the next position, manual. ?????
Am I correct assuming there's an electrical problem internally causing this? If so is it worth the money to have it repaired? I have no idea where to send it or the cost to repair this problem.
The camera is out of warranty.
