K5 RAW format

I have tried the K5 and am looking to buy one in a couple of weeks.When i tried to open the images taken in PEF format,CS4 or Elements 8 would not open them.If i take the images in DNG format i can open them in both.If i want to use PEF format have i got to purchase CS5 or Elements 10?

Elements 9 can read PEFs, but why not just shoot DNGs instead? Then you can continue to use your current software.

DNGs with the K-5 are a similar size to PEFs so that is not longer a problem.

You should be able to update your Adobe software, but why bother when you can just shoot DNG?

Thanks for the replies.I used to shoot DNG with my K7 but changed to PEF as i understood they were smaller files.I will as you suggest start using DNG again.
