K5 iis - Diopter Adjustment Lever Missing

Hi all The diopter adjustment lever on my well used K5iis has broken off leaving a sizeable slot above the eyepiece. As a temporary 'fix' I've stuck a piece of gaffer tape over the slot. I've looked online for a technical diagram to try and establish how serious a problem (my guess is very serious) this is with regard to dust and muck getting into the guts of the camera, but I haven't been able to find one. My question is, am I right to think this is a major issue or has lady luck smiled on me and somehow the adjuster is in a compartment sealed off from the camera innards and all I'll need is a new roll of gaffer tape as it doesn't seem to stick very well. Maybe it's just time for a new camera? Grateful for any insights. Cheers Ian

good to know odd parts like that are available, a great camera getting a few more years
