K3 shutter repair price

The shutter on my K3 has just bust, has anyone had a shutter replaced and what was the cost ?

A lot I do a lot of sports photography and can take over 600 photos at one rugby match so it's not surprising I've wrecked one, I'm surprised it's the first I've had give up on me really.

Yes, I was getting a black bar over the photos so I locked up the mirror (sensor cleaning) and you can see part of the shutter hanging loose over the sensor

£180 plus VAT, add P&P to that it will be about £230 in total. Too much to invest in a over 4 year old camera I'm afraid.

Just done a deal with my local camera shop, picking up my new K3II this afternoon. I just hope the K3II replacement doesn't get announced soon or it could be an expensive few months for me

I got a good deal with my local Pentax dealer, he sponsored me £250 so I used that against the K3II.

Interestingly I was trying to save the £250 sponsorship money to use for the K3II replacement but I was told that isn't likely to happen until this time next year.
He did say the K1II is definitely happening this year and the K1 will be quite heavily discounted, I'm not interested in FF but useful to know for anyone who is.

Then what are you planning to go for?

I went for the K3II, I do a lot of sports photography so the KP didn't suit my needs.
