K20D and K200D Premiere Day - 8th March 2008

Hi everyone,

As I have mentioned to some of you this event is taking place at my Watford store on the 8th March.

I have just had confirmed by my Pentax man that the following products will be here to play with.....

K20D
K200D
18-55 Mk2
35 Macro
55-300
200
300

He is also trying to get hold of a 60-250 although this is unlikely.

The day starts at 10am and finishes at 4.30pm and there will be 2 Pentax staff to tackle any questions. There will be special offers on the day!

Thanks to those who have said they are coming down - it will be great to see you all.

If anyone has any queries then please just ask!

Are you likely to have 35 Macros for sale on the day or just one to play with? I'm sorely tempted but I'd like to see one "in the flesh" and if I do fall in love with it then I'd want to be bringing one home with me...

Count me in Chris, can't wait to have a play with the 55-300 and of course the camera bodies.

My Dad and I constitute the Glanville Consultants Imaging team (K10D + DA12-24) and will be bringing a couple of plots to show off to yourselves and your Pentax man if he's interested.

I shall be sat on an islandlooking out at the North Sea then, and hopefully not wishing I had a weatherproofed camera
I look forward to hearing all your reports!

I think I am due to get stock later in March, but I will confirm tomorrow.

Would love to be there, but my Cessna doesn't have the range, and it's a long walk (swim?) home. Have a good look at everything and keep us poor Canucks informed. And don't forget to have a good time!

Sorry Hefty1 - no stock of the Macro to sell, although there will be one to play with to give you an idea of its capabilities.

All the other lenses are definately going to be here to show - I have just received a 200/2.8 and its impressive.

I hope to see as many of you as possible tomorrow, it will be nice to put faces to names!

Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait a little longer...

I'll distract Chris, while you make a run for it - as long as you do the same for me when I've got the 300mm on my camera.

I think perhaps we should've been more subtle, Chris might rumble us.

Dan, if you get to play with the new 300mm I'd be interested to hear your comments afterwards on it, e.g. how bright it is through the VF, how the AF feels, etc. I'm hoping it's going to be sharp wide-open but I guess we'll have to wait for some test shots to find out.

Will do, will try it out as best I can and see how it fares at all apertures (on my K10D).

I am trying to think of a way to distract Michael and Lindsey (the good people from Pentax UK) so I can grab this.....

There will be two 200mm lenses available to play with - one a pre-production version and the other a retail grade version.
