Hi,
Has anyone out there had this problem? I inserted new batteries - and the camera is as dead as a dodo. I put in the old batteries - still no signs of life. (& yes everyone - the + & - are the right way around). I have also hooked it up to a PC - but no joy. HELP!!!!!

What sort of batteries are you using? Are they rechargeable ones or single-use? Have you checked they actually contain a charge? The more information you give us the better we are able to help you.

Hi - Energiser Lithium - purchased 3 weeks ago. The Batteries have charge and operate in other equipment. They are not rechargeable. The "old/orginal" batteries were not 100% depleted, but even if they are re-inserted the camera remains inert.

Try brand new batteries. If it still doesn't work, it sounds like a warranty/repair job.

You'd be better off using rechargeable batteries for the future.

On Nikons and Canons you can remove the small battery that keeps the clock/settings in order wait two mins and reinsert, that resets the camera to default. Must admit only just moved over to Pentax and not sure if the battery (is there) or the removel of it will do the same thing. But its worth looking.

Thanks all. Its being returned to Pentax as a Warranty Claim via the outlet I purchased from. If I get any more details I will let you know
