FROM DP REVIEW;
Method of Downgrading 1.31 K10D
The method is pretty easy, simply change the rom's header file to 1.31 and the Camera will then be able to load the older firmware.
So here is file you can use to downgrade 1.31 to 1.10. After applying this rom, apply the original 1.10 rom, so you can get the system version right.
Patched 1.10 ROM: http://file01.tnder.org/207002-Patched-1.10.zip
Original 1.10 ROM: http://file01.tnder.org/177002-Original-1.10.zip
Just put the ,bin file at the root of the SD card. Power the camera off, then power on with menu pressed and hold. The Patched 1.10 ROM will prompt to be 1.31, but it is actually 1.10.

I don't believe the original firmware versions built into the cameras have been released as they are not updates. The closest would seem to be v1.01, Ricoh have a zip file of it here:

or see this page:

you might need to check with Ricoh if that is the closest to what you want or perhaps ask them for the v1.00 file. You never know.
At least those are from the manufacturer and not hacked files where you can never be sure quite what you're getting!
Not sure whether downgrading would cause any problems though, it's certainly a do at your own risk thing.
This site:- http://www.pentax-hack.info also has some earlier firmware downloads but it's a third party site so even more at your own risk. The earliest they look to have available is v1.10.
I've often wondered why people would want to do that as you'd loose functionality.
Edit: I've just downloaded Ricoh's v1.01 update and it's actually v1.10, so the sensible option would seem to be to ask Ricoh directly for v1.00. Alternatively, ask the Pentax-hack site if they happen to have it.

If I remember correctly upgrades to the K10/K20 introduced SDM to the bodies. Going back would mean you could use the screw drive on broken 16-50's and 50-135's

That's answered that then as I was just about to ask why!
Seems an easier way to do it rather than hack the camera via PKTether to disable SDM

The K10D needs firmware 1.30 to use SDM, so anything prior to that should do the trick.
I would phone JPS and talk to an engineer to check how you should do it.
