K1 Users - Restoring a K1 to default Settings - How?

I have a particular issue which could be;
1. K1 Settings related,
2. Windows 7 set up related
3. or worst of all camera related.

Problem:
I have 2x 128 Gb Lexar (1000x) professional cards in my K1.

They function normally and can be seen in playback on the K1 Display

They can be uploaded as normal to my Ipad using the Apple Photo Up loader

They can be viewed on windows 10 PC

However when I put them in a card reader on my PC (windows 7 Pro) I immediately get a message
on screen saying the card needs formatting after which I take a test shot and put it in the card
reader and I get the same error Message; reformatting does nothing to resolve the problem on the Win7PC

The fact the cards record the images and they can be viewed on IOS (Ipad), Windows 10 PC and the K1, I think rules out the cards, the K1 and the Camera Set up, unless of course there is a settings difference required between Win 7 and Win 10, but that seems a little unlikely

It does point towards window 7 Pro but I am completely bewildered frankly.

As a start-point, I did want to restore the K1 to default Settings but can't find the specific method to do this in the manua,l so any advice on that would be helpful ?

It sounds like the card reader to me. How old is it?

I had a similar problem when I bought new SDXC cards for my K1. My card reader was out of date and couldnt read the SDXC cards. A new reader solved it.

You definateately need to upgrade your card reader, It cant cope with the speed and capacity of your sd cards...

I had a similar problem when I upgraded to 64gb cards..

The Lexar branded ones can be a little expensive.. Many of the cheap ones from China/ebay work perfectly as well..

Dead on guys, latest cards need a current card reader, thanks for your interest, everything is back on track.

Incidentally can anyone let me know how to restore the K1 to default settings, still can't find a reference for this .

There's a reset in the menus: spanner mode page 4, Reset.
There's also a reset custom functions: C mode page 4.
