Nice review, and love the images.
I'm somewhat torn with this type of use, as the K-1/Pentax DSLR's are marketed/obviously good performers in landscape and astro work, but at the same time I'm not seeing anything that requires an optical viewfinder for this work. Live view and digital zoom/focus peaking make this the ideal approach for focusing, and you get this in a mirrorless camera too. As much as I'd wanted Pentax to avoid the mirrorless route (I much prefer optical viewfinders) it's also clear that their subject matter strengths are quite nicely aligned to the mirrorless format.
