I thought this post was supposed to be something to do with Firmware! No idea what the list of equipment is all about.

It is about the updated Firmware, if you click on the red text, it'll take you straight there.

The list of kit is the OP's email signature, similar to mine

Not seeing anything about the promise of (re) enabling sensor shift in Video mode??

Why are these updates not put on the news updates column right? It shouldn't need a vigilant Pentax user to alert us.

Another question - if you haven't updated from previous versions are those changes incorporated in the latest one?

RICOH don't own this site, Rob and the purpose of a forum is to 'give' as well as take.
What about thanking felix?

Would it be so hard for Ricoh to put announcements on the various Pentax forums?

You are asking a lot when Ricoh/Pentax UK have not even got the updated firmware on their own site yet !

As I mentioned in the 55-300mm PLM review, it can be quite difficult to find the latest firmware updates, so many thanks to felix for spotting this one.
Best regards, John

Again, this is not their forums.
I don't understand why you are feeling so hurt by this? You could have thanked the OP for his thoughtfulness and made the world just a little better for him today.

Well spotted felix, thanks.
The update seems mainly to relate to changes in Image Transmitter 2, and as I don't use that (£159 for a CD!) I may wait for 1.5 which as suggested will hopefully include the video sensor shake making a comeback, fingers crossed.

It would be interesting to hear if the new version works with the Android Image Sync any better, i.e., you actually get an image preview on the phone which hasn't happened since I first got the K-1 when it worked, but hasn't since. not that I'm too worried though.

To answer Rob's query, "if you haven't updated from previous versions are those changes incorporated in the latest one?" the answer is yes, you don't need the interim versions, it's a complete new firmware.

I would love an improved Image Sync. I thought that the Flucard was poor before I tried the syncing software on both the K-1 and K-S2...

There happened to be an update to image Sync as well last week (now up to v 1.1.4) so I updated that on two phones and the K-1 to 1.41. Given the aim of the update was connected with connectivity it seemed it must surely fix the Image sync issue. But no, still no liveview on either phone.

I recall LV working on my android phone a month or two ago. I used the K-1 to snap shots of my hair before and after a cut!
