i have all the sound effects turned off but I still get a beep like a vehicle reversing warning. What is it and can it be turned off? It gets very annoying.

Focus hit? If not when does it beep
Otherwise could it be when you're walking backwards to frame a shot to warn others nearby of your presence?

When do you get the beep? While performing what action?

A few seconds after I switch on the beep sounds once then after another few seconds the beep occurs for 6-10 secs then stops.

I think I may have solved it, or a least cured it. I had a single flu card in the camera. I replaced it with a pair of SD cards and it doesn't beep. Strangely though it doesn't bleep now when I put the I put the flu card back in. maybe it was the flu card trying to make a connection.

Ah, there you go. It does that when you stick it in a PC as well. Glad it's sorted :p

Sitting in a hide with some upthemselves Canon users I realised I was the only one bleeping when in focus. Found out how to turn it off later.
