K-1's are on the way...
It was reassuring to find that 15-30, 24-70, 7-200 and 150-450 needed no adjustments whatever. My two K3s needed quite large positive adjustments on all my lenses (15-30 and 24-70 not tested on APS-C).
I like the attention to detail right down to the mount plug reverting to the original locking style.
So far so very good and unlike some who don't agree, I prefer the new position of the play button, it allows one handed operation.
Mine has reached Cornwall's Parcelforce depot. 7 am, so is within 50 miles!
.......And, by the time I got home from an early meeting it had arrived.
First impressions,,,it's black, very black....a bit bigger all round than the K-3. Adjusted viewfinder to suit eye. Big viewfinder, lots of clever stuff...fitted my O-ME53 magnifying eyecup, even better!!!
Fitted an Op Tech strap and adjusted to suit,
Been going through the menus, setting my preferences.
Thank you SRS Microsystems for good communication, a good deal and prompt service.
Than you Ricoh for making it.
Away from home all yesterday, kept checking emails and bank account. No activity there so I phoned SRS when I got home, turns out there was a discrepancy on my address so the payment hadn't gone through. Drove down to Watford this morning to collect, it's great to see the shop and the faces behind the communications. Nice also to see the Pentax display not tucked away at the back and looking a bit uncared for as in some other places. Just waiting for the battery to charge!
take it its the first time you have been and did you like the experience of a proper camera shop as they is not many about like that now
mine here just having a play surprised using the 150-450 with 1.4 convert or it thinks it's got an apsc lens on
The 1.4x is crop only according to Ricoh.
Quick tests show that my 55 f1.4 DA is very usable but the 35mm Limited Macro has some vignetting and the 14mm DA barely covers the APC circle, let alone FF.
So far so very good and unlike some who don't agree, I prefer the new position of the play button, it allows one handed operation.
I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I must have activated LiveView about a hundred times today whilst intending to look at images...
Also getting used to the new top display and control wheels..will be a time saver and useful.
Will try the fancy light show later when it gets dark!!

Should've known they'd make me wait. Out on a shoot at 4pm - it's agonizing!
