I got to fondle the K-1 a few weeks ago and was seduced by it also. The wait is horrible...

Weight is an interesting subject, totally of no interest to me as I take the same care when carrying my Leica compact on my hip as my heavy duty birding gear.
All of it needs to be treated with care, all of it is a "PIta"; even the little
Leica is like a boil on my hip so who cares; everything you carry is a pain.
Might as well carry the best then !
I Have in my car; a macro kit in one bag, a birding kit in another (150 -450 with a K3 II S ) and a K3 with an 18-135 in a neoprene stretch case for "walkies"
On very infrequent occassions I take the large format and acompanying paraphenslia, I forget the difference when hiking around brcause it is always a necessary part of the game and the total weight of the bag or the zoomster is all that matters.
So it is a fact that all are obtrusive and inconvenient, weight and shape-wise.
Two camera bodies might be 200 gms different when you ad a 3kilo lense what is the issue with the body weight; it is a consideration that id spurious at best.
My large format presents no more of a weight challenge than the rest , so buy the best for your needs and forget weight; that is my motto.
Regards

They seem to have invented a category so that each brand can win a prize!

You could be right as there's a 'Best Premium Camera' that separate from Professional DSLRs/Mirrorless. Perhaps Premium means overpriced/snob value in this case
