I think the are both great but maybe slightly over processed in photoshop, making them look a little illustrative.

Lennardinio,
I do not know what is much in PP, and what is too much.
here is the link to the original that is ONLY resized. Nothing else. As you can see, my post here is not even cropped.

The world around us is a little illustrative

I am using Gimp BTW.

PS. I will soon delete the original from my flickr site.

Aki you didn't use much PP but the trees in the foreground just look very strange.
To be honest I don't like it that much but that's of course a personal taste so don't be discourage by it, you can't please everyone.

Hi Aiki, my mistake I can see from the original that you have done little pp. As Anvh says it is just the trees in the foreground look strange a little like you have used the posterize filter.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing though... it's quite striking!

Sry, I even do not know what the posterize filter is. Have never used it and I do not know what it does.

True it is, we never can please everyone But this is the information that I am looking for - do many dislike/like and also why

Thanks for saying out what you think - whatever it is
I am really curious, what is this STRANGE about the trees. Will you try to explane, Stefan ?
(some other word than posterize filter Although I try to find it from gimp menu - just to see what Lennardinio ment )
Two of you mention the trees - so there has to be sth that I do not notice at the moment.

Will try to do my best Aki.

It's the transition on the tree, the shadows and highlight are very close together.
It's probably the lighting but it does look strange, and the lack of detail on the tree.

It is night. And the light from the streetlamps. Shadows, highlights close is ok for me.

Lack of detail on treetrunks - this is sth that I understand already. I think it is the mistake of focusing. Its slightly behind the trees. Am I right ?
Apert. 8 again. Should have been greater. The mistake of all the night series.

Thanks a lot, Stefan !

Sorry AKi the lack of detail is because of resizing with the full version you see some texture that I was missing, so nothing wrong with that.
It's the lighting that does it.

Much better Aiki - this time you have got the title right.

If I had taken the second one I'd be quite pleased with myself.

I haven't a clue why it looks like that but I love the colours of No.2. It does look like posterization so it must the street lights casting that hue. Whatever it is it works for me.
