*istD given an outing with a DA 55-300

Every now and then I get one of my *istDs out. A couple of days ago I realised I had never put the DA 55-300 on it.
The sun was on the pyracatha berries so I snapped a few shots of it.

I am always delighted with the quality of the colours this camera provides and it accepted the 'modern' lens seamlessly.
Shortly after I went out the clouds rolled in and it began to rain -- this camera isn't weatherproof!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

The berries against a blue sky make a lovely combination. I have the 55-300 PLM and find it a great lens.

Lovely colours. I always find that my istD handles reds far better than the K70, even when shooting RAW. I've dusted mine off recently and have been using it with the HD 35mm and 70mm Limited lenses I bought in the summer.

There's no screw drive on the PLM 55-300 or that would have been on there too!

With all the excitement about the lastest cameras and lenses, thanks for reminding us that the old stuff can still produce really good results when you play to its strengths.

What Lubbyman says, plus what everyone else is saying about how good these images are. Absolutely cracking, davidwozhere.

Lovley stuff. It's interesting that the pre-digital-era equipment generally gets quite a lot of attention but the early digital stuff much less so. You've highlighted here that you can still get just as good results as the day it was launched, i.e. very good and more than suitable for large prints etc.

Love the camera, love the warmth of the images, hate the plant - I've lost count of how many times I've been spiked by this little bleeder

Yes - little bleeder is probably about right . Just to make it worse, this one has an elderly (sort of) climbing rose going through the middle of it.
Thank you all for the kind comments.

Lovely these - they remind me of images taken on film, they have that 'look' about them
