Am I right in thinking the Pentax *istD is no longer generally available? Does anyone know of a UK source for one (new or refurb), please?

The *ist-D has been discontinued for some time.
I think you'd be extremely hard pressed to find one anywhere - refurbished or second hand (they're snapped up pretty sharpish generally).
Even the *ist-DS is now no longer available... some web sites show it as available, but with a few week delay.
Looks like the *ist-DL2 is the "current" UK product

It hasn't been available for a while. The American stores, like KEH, have second-hand ones available from time to time, and occasionally you might see one on Ebay.

KEH has a very good reputation, and I would not hesitate to import from them if need be. But remember that VAT and shipping will add at least 20% to the quoted price.

From a previous thread, pretty sure it's still there.

On a side note, if anybody is looking for a brand new *istD (not DS or DL) with an FAJ 18-35mm get in touch with Cameratiks of Edinburgh, http://www.camerabase.demon.co.uk/home.html.

Price is 799.99 though but they may be prepared to haggle as they have had it since near the release date and never been able to sell it..

Cheers
