Is this a Pentaxian at Wings and Wheels?
I was there all day on Saturday, but was up one end in the driver's enclosure by the motoring paddock, and didn't see a single Pentax - just expensive canikon lenses.

Yeah, looks like a K7, K5 or K3 but what lens is that?
It really can only be one of the Sigmas - probably a 150-500mm or maybe 50-500mm I guess

They're nice close shots - what lens were you using? I did some of the air display at Oulton but nothing spectacular, and not as close up.
This was the first time I had used my DA*300 for planes. It was fine for single aircraft provided they were not immediately in front of me but where there was a group of aircraft I struggled to get them all into the frame. A zoom can be more flexible, although the IQ of the DA*300 is superior, I feel.
You may well be correct about the IQ on the fixed lens, I found that I was using the Sigma over the Tamron 70-300 more for the quality than the extra focal length, though sometimes there's not much in it.

I should have taken my monopod but I got a few with which I am reasonably happy with.
For some reason virtually all my wingwalker pictures were sharp but the darker planes were more hit and miss - must have something to do with the contrast.
