Irony of ironies

I have had one of my photos published in B+W Photography Magazine for July 2018, winning a 32gb micro-SD card. Irony of ironies, it was a photo I took using my phone.

Perhaps I should sell all this photo gear!

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Well done Kris and I'll give you a tenner for the Pentax stuff.

Best regards

Ah but these days is it a phone that takes the odd picture or a camera that makes the odd phone call.... Congratulations Kris

When my wife dragged me into the shop to get a new phone (the old one spent most of its life in the bottom of my bag with a flat battery) I went for one which had good reviews for its camera. I had no idea whether it was actually any good as a phone!

Congrats. Yep, phone cameras are incredible these days, you can see why no one really bothers with digital compacts any more.

Well done Kris on the win with your image... It's still yours and reflects the style and skill of the photographer regardless of the actual capture device. The DSLR still rules for the ultimate in adaptability, controllability, and demanding conditions .... But the phone will more often actually be there and be ready to snap in time.

Sod the card or the phone it won't fit, it's the kudos that counts - and you'll get lots of that when it hits the shelves!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Well done Kris. I struggle to get sensible use out of my smart phone just making and receiving calls and texts. The thought of attempting an award winning photo with it scares me.

Yes, impressive! Whenever I take a photo in my iPhone it goes off like a Canon in overdrive and I end with twenty images in two secs, all identical.
