RIght... CardiffGareth said about playing with the white balance to bring out the whites. So I decided I was just gonna fanny and experiment with it...

This lot came out!

This last one... I thought what the hell and lets try a light trail... WOW... I was gobsmacked at what came out!

Ian allowed me to play with a couple of images so here they are. I use a free channel swap action download from Kolari so that was the first thing i did, worked ok with the bridge image not so good with landscape, the sky had odd colouration around bright clouds .With both i put back into Camera Raw Filter and used white balance dropper and selected the foliage, far hillside on 1 , foreground tree on 2. this gave decent starting point. Just to say the start point would have had more to play with in the RAW file than the jpeg.
1.went over with a light dodge brush to brighten the whites, selected sky then hue/sat. to make more blue than the cyan it was, reduced vibrance a bit, selected bridge used hue/sat to change colour to more of a stone look which then adjusted to suit, a bit of dodge and burn to bring out shaded areas on far side

2. Due to problem with sky i decided B&W so into my favourite NIK Silver Efex, subtle glow followed by a bit of texture adjustment back to photoshop for an increase in contrast.

one thing i forgot i have created an IR camera profile using the free adobe DNG profile editor which greatly expands the white balance temperature range. plenty of info on youtube about that.

Right.... i need to clarify this... i like what you have done but i like being off the wall and to play and experiment.

I could have done exactly what you have done... reverse the channels etc... but i did not. I set the white balance on the camera... and liked the effect it gave. These have had some post processing on them but they are pretty much images straight off the camera!

fair enough, here is one of my off the wall moments with NIK vivesa, started off as usual colour swap IR then i went looking to see what other colours i could find , using vivesa ,to drag them out. the real fun bit was getting the reflection colours to look as right as i could
