I would never buy photo equipment like this from Amazon irrespective of price, much better to pay a little bit more to a photo retailer with a physical presence and know that if anything goes wrong there is less hassle to get it sorted. If you see it in a well-known retailer’s page on Amazon then just contact them directly.

Does electronic equipment still have a legal minimum two year guarantee after Brexit? I know that's the case in Europe but now that the UK is out, are you down to just one year?

Interesting question. Up until 2015 the UK Sale of Goods Act provided better protection than the EU directive minimum if one had a claim for faulty goods from the retailer. From 2015 the Consumer Rights Act in the UK is the operative statute, and can confer rights up to 6 years. I believe this complied with the EU directive as it conferred greater rights The important thing about the CRA is you can outright reject a faulty product within 30 days, and have strong rights up to 6 months. Beyond 6 months the onus is on you to demonstrate there was a fault with the product from the outset.
Manufacturers like Pentax are still offering a 2 year manufacturers guarantee in addition to the rights you have against a retailer detailed above.
So no change.....I think

Would rather see excess stock sold via Pentax dealership than offloaded via Amazon but this price is a bargain for someone.
