I think its an image of great beauty by Edward Stiechen, I think. So probably beyond price.

In 2006 it sold for $2.928M which was then a record price for a photo. I don't know if it has been resold recently, or if another photo has subsequently sold for more.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Reminds me very much of this, which is the most expensive I'm aware of:

I'm no art critic, but I know complete rubbish when I see it, and I have to say the picture in the original post and Rhein II fall into exactly the same category.

I haven't seen it in the flesh but have read people online saying they thought it was rubbish but when seen in a gallery its a very different thing, its 1.9m x 3.6m so I guess that is never going to translate well to a small web picture

I don't find it anything special whatsoever so nothing, but in the pretentious kings new clothes snobby art world someone probably paid millions for it.

If it was something I'd taken myself, it would go into the reject pile without even getting printed.
But we all like different things, fortunately I never seem to particularly like things that attract big price stickers.
