Hockney Had It Easy With Hawthorn...

Hawthorn is in bloom round here, which reminded my of David Hockney's paintings of hawthorn. But he had it easy - he could paint what he saw in his mind. Those of us who use cameras have to use what's on the tree. Here are a few from the last few days taken with K3 + FA77 at about f2 and low sun. Wide aperture, narrow DOF, hand held, with dog on lead poses interesting challenges...

Thoughts, comments etc. welcome as usual.

Lovely warm light and enough in focus to keep the eye happy. Wouldn’t want to pick a favourite from these, Steve - for me, they’re all equally attractive.

They are attractive shots although the colour balance of number 3 is the most appealing for me.

Beautiful lighting on these.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
