I tipped a bottle of beer all over my keyboard and it too behaves quite oddly at times!

Get your k3ii to output Raw files as DNG not PEF. Problem solved!

Been a while but as my main MacBook Pro is poorly and Adobe wouldn't let me download the updates to Lightroom 5 to where I was before I had to change the hard drive am considering other options as I now have a K3 ii that I don't think the original release of LR 5 will support. The tools in Lightroom were always enough and I have no real interest or time to go into Photoshop etc as I keep editing to a minimum.
Having a little play with the trial version of On 1 Photo Raw and seems ok so far. Some reports that it can be a resource hog and is a bit unstable? Though it is unclear if that is either the Mac version or the Windows version and whether there may be difference between the two?
If the MacBook Pro is unrepairable (second time it's been in recently but it is 5 years old and my Mother in Law spilled tonic all over it so not surprising it has a few issues now) I may consider trying Windows again.
But will see.
