Super shot- really like it, amazing how much you can pull out of the K5.

Wish we could still do that with the K3

lovely shot, K5's only failing seems to be slightly iffy low light focus

Thanks guys.
I haven't noticed any iffy focus as such. You may have to help it with a contrasty edge, but the K5 still gets there accurately in my experience - hopefully the subject hasn't moved

Is the K-3 so bad for this sort of thing? I'm still sitting on the fence about upgrading to the 5 or the 3...

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Thanks Kris.
I have a spare 5 if you want it

I upgraded from a kx and am really happy with my k5, a lot cheaper than a k3 so left a bit of budget for lenses.

I use lightroom Kris. If you set exposure generally for the midtones, there is a shadow slider where you can specifically lift the shadows. I use this a lot. For under the wings of birds for example. It works great with the K5, but not nearly as good with the K3.

Thanks Alan, good to know! I use that slider in Lightroom a great deal too (for interior architecture for example) but it is a shame it doesn't work so well with the K-3.

By the time I make a decision the K-1 will be out!

Thanks all, K.
