Getting rid of tungsten blue filter.

As you've filtered out the red end of the spectrum it's hard to see how it can be put back. I would suggest lateral thinking and converting them all to monochrome. It will of course be mono shot with a blue filter and that will give you an effect similar to using "ordinary film" that was only sensitive to blue. You might get a nice vintage effect on suitable shots. Skies will be more or less pure white and the tonal values will be different. Sometimes it works really well, depending on subject.
Best regards, John

Thanks John. If I get no other answers then I may give that a try. I must have had my wrong head on 12 years ago. The other 300 or so are all OK and I was nowhere near any tungsten light. Thank goodness I had my then new Ist*D with me for the other 1300 or so shots.

The actual red channel is missing completely so the best you'll get from them is a sort of two colour 'bipack' colour process reminiscent of early colour photographs such as the 1915 Kodachrome; Eastman-Kodak's first colour system (amongst others.)

John. I just tried a couple and they don't look too bad. A least better than all blue like the Smurfs.

If they're important to you to be realistic it might still be better to rescan them.
Sometimes the colour fades and they end up looking like that when scanned anyhow. If they are pretty good still, to preserve them it might be best to do them again. Sorry! Might be just as quick as correcting them.

Been wondering since how you managed to do 500+ scans and not notice they all looked sub-aqua?!

John K. I did notice but kept on scanning in the hope that I could do something with them.
I have tried exactly what you have done but I'm not keen on the outcome. I think B&W might be the answer.

The colour cast on these is much more than a tungsten filter. which would only give a cool look just like selecting the wrong WB on your camera.
It might be worth having a look at your scanner - the red light source might just have failed. (Some scanners scan progressively with 3 coloured light sources, others use a white light & filtered detectors).
