FS: Pentax DA 35mm F2.4 (as new)

So here are two DA 35mm Pentax primes up for grabs.

Bought from Amazon recently - I bought four, gave one to my Dad for Christmas, I was planning to sell two and keep one. So far I've sold one.

However, things have been a bit tighter than expected recently, and it's looking like I won't be able to shift my FA50 any time soon

So I'm putting both the remaining DA 35mm lenses up for sale. They haven't been taken out of the box yet, so they're as 'as new' as it gets.

Before sending each one, I'll check that it works Ok, and if it goes wrong before the warranty expires (12.12.12) I'll do what I can to sort it out with Amazon.

£98 (each!!), by bank transfer please. This will include everything that comes new in the box, and delivery by RMSD.

I'll sort out pictures over the weekend, but you know what it will look like - lens, box, caps, packing, etc etc. Imagine it mint, 'cos that's what it is

Ok, here's a picture of the two DA35s, just to prove that I own them:

The lens caps haven't come off yet - I want to keep them as pristine as I can. The buyer can choose between the following options:

- I'll ship the lens 'untouched' (ie, not tried, lens caps remain on) or
- I'll put the lens on the camera, and take a couple of shots, just to make sure that it's undamaged, the AF works, and it's optically as I'd expect.

I'm in discussion with one potential buyer so far.

It was sold 67£ on amazon, that's the reason why you bought 4 of them I suppose.

If you sell them 67£ + shipping, I would be interested by one.

I would take the other one off your hands for that price too?

That's right. I've made no secret of the fact that I'm hoping to resell them at a profit.

As it happens, if I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to afford to get one for my dad, who wouldn't have been able to afford the original Amazon price, let alone the normal full price. I'd been hoping to keep one for myself, but circumstances dictate that now I can't.

I'm not sure it's appropriate to dress up thinly veiled accusations of profiteering as an 'offer'. However, I'm afraid that I do need to make close to my asking price on these lenses.

£98 is a very good price and is £30 under what you can get the lens for from a retailer. Before the Amazon misprice these were regularly changing hands for £110 used so I fail to see the problem tbh. Chris is including postage, took the risk and has money tied up in the lenses .. if they don't sell he will no doubt incur credit card charges as well.

If I didn't have 10 of them sitting here I would buy one myself.

Classifieds are for selling items and not entering into discussions about retail profit margins, Fred.

Ken :

On my unique post in this topic I made an offer so I'm not off topic compare to others, it is my right to make an offer that I consider fair.

Thanks

£98 is a very good price! Totally unlike the HP TouchPad's that are being sold for £199 LOOOL

Looking for a lens for my dad and this might work. Problem is it isn't his birthday yet...

Not sure I could buy one and wait. If you still have one to spare in a month or two then I'd definitely be interested. Unless I can scrape something together.

FWIW I bought the first one from Chris, and have been very pleased with it. We came to a mutually agreeable price of £98 at the time, and I'm both relieved and impressed that he's sticking to this figure. Chris posted the lens extremely speedily, and it was in pristine condition when I opened the box.

While I was upset not to have had my eye on the Leads to Deals forum on the right day in December, and in some ways it hurt to line someone else's pocket as punishment for my own inattention, I feel that I made the right decision, and got a brand new lens at a very competitive price.

I trust that this post counts as worthwhile and on topic, as I am in effect vouching for Chris as a seller.
