Hello Brightstone
I have one of these 2x Macro Converters that I couple with a Vivitar 28 mm lens and get some decent close-ups (see my Ladybird Undercarriage posted on 9/12/11). As this set-up is not coupled to the camera contacts, I have difficulty evaluating the exposure needed. I put it on Manual mode, set the lens to f8 and experiment with the shutter speed.
I wonder if you have any better advice, which would help me and perhaps any one interested in buying your item.
I hope you don't mind me asking.
Kind regards.

Pikaholic, Clevedon.

For the benefit of any potential buyer, I can attest that fine results are achievable when this converter is used in combination with older, Pentax manual focus lenses including the 50mm f/1.7 and 200mm f/4. E.g.

Correct exposure is arrived at empirically but, IMHO, this is less trouble than one might think and, in any case, is part of the fun of using manual lenses

Hi Brightstone
Since asking my question I have found the answer in the Manual (of all places). I hadn't understood the use of the AE-L in this situation.
I hope you have success with your sale. Peter Bargh article on converters should help to convince someone.

yes, you have got the right answer. on K10d or later DSLR, there is a green button which does the same thing.
