I have one in similar condition.
I read a previous thread where another user had same which was diagnosed as a screw that had become dislodged and jammed the zoom & focus mechanisms.
Question is, do you have the expertise to dis-assemble & re-assemble?

Lost count of the number of times I have done that and ended up binning it in a fit of temper.

I stick the bits into a bag since I'm a massive hoarder. Thankfully I've been rewarded for saving the odd piece or two

Can't beat a bag of bits and the right tools for the job.
