Next up we have an AF400FTZ in good condition which works with my K10. The battery compartment in clean and the contacts don't have any corrosion.

Leading/Trailing curtain will work, as will (H)igh & (L)ow manual. TTL auto will not work because the Later Pentax DSLR's don't support TTL flash control. Only the *istD and *istDS will support TTL.

It's an excellent flash in all respects and will teach you how to use a flash properly, in manual. It can also be used as an off camera flash if connected via a 5P cable and hot shoe adapter.
