For clarification - Pricing on new and used K1s

There has been some discussion on PU recently specifically regarding Pricing on new and used K1s and frankly speaking it is quite frustrating if not curious;

Eg

1. Digital Rev ( Pentax pro centre ): New £1539
https://store.digitalrev.com/product/pentax-k-1-body/MTEwNDYyNQ_A_A

2. Drones for less ( trust pilot checked 8.9/10): New £1500.
http://dronesforless.co.uk/cameras/pentax-k-1-dslr-camera-body-only/
Fully researched; accredited Trust Pilot , PayPal etc but returns can be complicated because products seem to be from shipped from US ( but not grey).
However this was very properly refuted by Dronesforless themselves and by numerous buyer reviews.

3. Bristol cameras New £1579

4. WEX - Discussed with WEX - not able to reduce: Used £1699

I asked Wex would they accept an offer below the price advertised by Digital Rev and they had a discussion and came back saying that £1699 was firm and regarding price of new p£ 1539 was below their cost price . ( WEX are a favourite of mine and one of the most respected retailers out their so their response can be trusted and MAYBE indicates a secondary influence, potentially - how old stock is and when it was purchased)

So the markets for second hand and new K1S are equally diverse pricewise; it is curious to say the least; I checked several other new and used K 1 offers, some at ridiculous prices but not one seller would change their prices.

However we all want the best price from a legitimate or trustworthy seller so shopping around can still save several hundreds of pounds and frankly speaking I saw enough to conclude at todays date

*. The main dealers are pricing in the range £1800 +/- £30
* however there are numerous offers on new at sub £ 1700 the most notable of which is £1539
* But buying used at Sub £1400 for an "as new" is reasonable and realistic based on my review on the net and the cluster of sellers offereing new at £1500- £1600

Or check SRS again. I've just got an email saying the K-1 is down to £1599 for this weekend

So worth making a lowball offer for the one currently for sale on the forum (this weekend only though)

SRS have offered them at £1599 for 5 weekends out of the last 6 that I have seen. The offer price might appear late on Friday if not Saturday morning and lasts for the weekend.

Last weeked at SRS, they remained at £1799 but then Park Cameras ran the same offer of £1599.

It can be useful to check here...

...but they sometimes lag actual prices.

I think DigitalRev ships from Hong kong

That is certainly the applicable law to your contract with them.

£1599 from either SRS or Park Cameras would be my choice, (if I hadnt already bought one from SRS last year).

SRS reducing this weekend as 'ilovesaabs' said, this time with checkout coupon as opposed to a straight price reduction - to all intents and purposes, the same thing:

Back to the OP I think WEX are somewhat stuck with their price as they presumably took it in exchange for something else, now they have to add VAT to the price... they'll have to accept a loss on this especially when the pound gains strength and the price of new gear comes down (as if!!!)..

To add to that, if the seller has to sell at a loss there is no VAT due at all.
