Foggy in my local wood

Hi All,

First photo post here, so let me know if I've done anything wrong

It was foggy this morning so decided to try and take some photos in my local wood (a small wood, but a stone's through from my house). Sadly had a few things to do in the morning, so most of the fog had burned away before I was able to get out.

I was initially planning on going for B&W (also attached), but decided I liked the colour version better. I'd be interested to see if others disagree.

Taken with my Pentax K7 and my 18-55mm kit lens. Slightly disappointed with the sharpness of the lens, and need to look into a better wide-angle lens soon...

Thanks for viewing.

Nice photos, the fog will always soften the image, I would have done a little post in lightroom, increased the clarity and sharpness a tad, possibly a little dehaze.

I do like the slight sepia look

Generally I'm a fan of B&W but in this case it's the subtle colour version for me.

Thanks for the comments.

I've done a bit more work in the photo using Affinity Photo, which I think helps a bit. I think this helps bring out some of the detail a bit more while still keeping the mood of the photo.

Colour for me also here. The colour gives it better depth where as the mono looks flat in comparison

RE the sharpness, don't forget The K-7 has the AA filter which will inevitably have some effect on it. Also the fog will reduce the apparent sharpness so apart from close up objects it could enhance the image. Everything doesn't have to be bitingly sharp!
As to colour or mono, colour as they are there, but a sepia toned version of the mono one would be worth trying.
