Beauty in the familiar, there to see of only one looks... And you do.

Nicely seen, nicely photographed. The symmetry in the second is striking.

Steve
PS: Did the pupa die?

At it again, Roger, those are beautiful. Nettles? No way, alien insects say I.

Thanks chaps, you're most kind!

To which pupa do you refer, Steve?

I think we are all interested in the orange tip?

I look closely at flowers but quite clearly, not closely enough. The detail in these was totally unexpected.

I'm so sorry, Steve & David!

I put, I think it was three, pupae out in the garden to fend for themselves last year, sheltered in a corner at the bottom of a wall.

None of them survived.
In turn, each became dessicated & ended up being broken into pieces, though still with at least one piece held by the cordon around it to the plant stalk!

Thanks for the nudge, it seems such a long time ago now......

Roger.

Pity about the pupae. Yes, it was the orange tip I had in mind. No set of 'decaying pupa' pictures, then?

Funny year, last winter. None of the bees have emerged from my bee hotel either.
