Tried that, no good, even pressed the test button, no good , so I think the flash has given up the ghost. Thanks

Sounds like it then, presume you've double checked the batteries are loaded correctly, have you looked to see if the terminals in the flash are corroded ?

Have you fired the flash off camera to check if the flash itself is ok?

There is an item in the K1 menu were you set the type of flash response cant remember which... But im sure you will have already set it...

I think a trip to a Pentax dealer is required to get a compatible flash.

Worth considering the Cactus RF60x and a Cactus V6ii trigger, lets you use the flash so normal and combined with the trigger full sync up to 1/8000 sec.
The flash would be about £130 and the triggers are around £60, the flash has a build in receiver so you only need a trigger for the camera when used on a stand

Might consider that but I don't use flash very often.
