First outing of the New Year

Blackstone Edge is a favourite walking spot over towards Littleborough and Rochdale from home. Set off in lovely sunny weather with snow on the ground, looking forward to some super views. Heading over the crest of the M62 it started getting a bit foggy. It's only one junction along the motorway, so no option but to carry on. By the time I parked up, it was a real pea souper. "This will surely lift soon," I told myself, and set off. The following show that it didn't!. The lack of a landscape perhaps drew more attention to the rocks which seemed to take on all sorts of odd shapes! K1 + FA 28-105mm. All commiserations welcome!

Goodness gracious me, that does feel really cold, so you must have done a great job in that environment! They make a good set of images and my favourites are the first two.

Superb, and quite possibly all the better for having the fog. Impossible to pick a favourite, but as a fan of footpaths and little bridges I must congratulate you on the last one - to infinity and beyond .

It would be interesting to take a matching set without fog and put them side by side. Something for warmer weather .

Excellent JVS, with the conditions freezing that one almost shivers when viewing, great isolation and separation in a number of the photo compositions, top marks and really well done an edited.

You made wonderful use of that. The sagging footbridge worries me a bit!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Cracking images all. You've capture the cold, (and then some), plus your use of the mist. So mysterious. Like Lubbyman, the bridge shot works best for me. However, to repeat, cracking images all.
Be well, stay safe.

If I'd have been on that walk I suspect I would have looked at many of those compositions and thought to myself "Yeah - but the conditions are so poor that they'll just be flat, boring pictures!" - just shows what good equipment in good hand (and eyes) can do. If I had to pick favourites I'd go for no.8 and no.2 - both top notch
