It looks like you all had a good time, great light on those images Barrie.

Tom, an excellent set and presentation. That tree sparrow would get a surprise if it sat down. You have a fine lens at your disposal and it cements the fact that for wildlife and certainly small birds, nothing beats long glass.

Barrie, another fine set from you where you have managed to show more of the scene (through no reason other than shorter glass). It works well in contrast to Tom's set and is complimentary.

Wonderful light in those images (hope I get the same at Whitby on NYE).

Tom's best image for me is his Greenfinch. It's really looking at your cannon!

Brian's best image for me is the second from last. Beautiful detail and bokeh.

Best regards

Hi Barrie

Hope you had a good Christmas. No must have missed that one - no problem - catch you all next time - and may nip to Fairburn myself on Thursday whilst visiting my sister who only lives 2 miles from it.

Nice to meet up with all you guys and gal, Finally got to put face to name with Steven (snappychappy) though I gather he was a little worse for wear

I was pleased Barrie got to see some species he'd not seen before and it looks like he got a few keepers too

Didn't get much myself on the day, over half went straight in the recycle bin but got at least three worthy of showing:

Tree Sparrow (as if I've not got enough already)
