I have to say that every WR Pentax I've owned has had a real good dousing from heavy rain, K10D, K20D, K5 K3II......Oh hang on that ones not had the privilege yet

Last year we were in a pub yard sheltering from rain at the edge of a marquee (it was packed inside) the K5 and 16-50 were on a table which was not offered any cover, it just sat there getting a wash. Several people pointed out that my camera was getting wet and seemed surprised when said it would be fine

I also recall reading a review a few years ago about a guy that claimed he had been in the river shooting fishermen, it seems he stumbled and the camera and lens had a brief dip in the river, his words were "God gave me quick reflexes but Pentax gave me Weather Sealing" (or words to that effect).
My Names Alan, and I'm a lensaholic.

Following on from my comments about the WR flash unit, I received a prompt reply from SRS which I am sure they won't mind me sharing, as follows:

"Apologies for the apparent confusion with this. We have contacted Pentax for some clarification, and they have informed us that the disclaimer on the first page of the manual has to be put their as the product contains an electrical circuit. However the specification for the product remains the same:

With 28 seals applied to crucial parts of the unit body including the hotshoe, these flash units feature highly dependable weather-resistant construction. By coupling one of them with a camera body and a lens that feature the same weather-resistant construction, the user can create a highly reliable weather-resistant digital imaging system that assures solid performance even in harsh outdoor conditions, such as in the rain or at locations subject to splashes and dust."

This has been a good read for me. I've been 'trusting' the WR of my K-S2 and WR lenses - and this feature was the primary reason for choosing Pentax - but I'll now actually trust a bit more!

So thanks.
