By the way - the "shadow" was the concrete fence that I am trying to hide behind some variegated Leylandii and I was unable to find a higher vantage point from which to take the shot - after cropping it did not give me the balance I wanted.
As for the sunshine - Bank Holiday approaching - Great Britain - April/May = cloudy grey skies, chilly with rain.

Cheers for the judging Stefan and congrats to Elscoto (my choice too) & the other winners.

Don't know what happened with mine - I thought I'd got over my resizing issues, but this time when I previewed a 900 wide image it looked awful. So I resized to 800 and posted it, even though this looked little better. Oh well.

Thanks all.

Tony, I already had such an idea and I didn't take it to heavy into account. When you start to look at the photo more you don't notice it any more and I came to like the grey weather in your photo strangely enough.
I'm sure you must quite hate how the view has changed.

Mhuni, I hope to see the photo in better condition soon, it's a great photo imho.

Hi Stefan - it`s not so much how the view has changed as the whole lot is now behind a shield of fencing and trees ( see page 30 on "Another Pointless Thread" for pic ).The biggest disappointment is the frquency and noise of the traffic going past on the road. This inhibits the pleasure of spending time at the bottom of the property and also has increased the airborne pollution. Also the traffic noise is apparent when the windows are open at the rear of the property.

Still - they call it progress !!

Congratulation to You Scott-Isaac!!! It was a wonderful picture. Congrats to all others. Nice Judging Stefan, as always it was fun.

It is morning here in Canada and I have awaken to see a second place....Thanks Stefan! I am not able to carry the EXIF on my photo once I upload them to my online album. If I work with them in my Picasa photo shop....it then creates a creations date. I usually take my photo for both the weekly and bi weekly competition as my assignments. It is how I learn to improve my skills. I love the CHALLANGE of finding, shooting and posting. I do not know how to keep the EXIF on the photo, as in the weekly it is already there, as I simply tranfere it from my desk top....

My feeling on the matter is, for the Bi-weekly, that there is no money or grand prize being embezzed. It is extra time and work enter. It is more time and work if you win. I think that most of us know each other, enjoy each other, and love our photography. I would hate not being allowed to enter because my program can not carry the copied and pasted EXIF. I really enjoy my program.

I am sure you will all hear from Elscotto soon, it is very early in western Canada, right now. I know he will be thrilled. He is a very young photographer, who is balancing his hobby, with his education.

Silly isn't it
It's the same here in the Netherlands, it's getting to crowded.. I'm thinking of moving abroad

Thank you Judith and I understand the problem, I was a bit unsure how to proceed.
Picasa btw does handle EXIF data so far as I know, you might want to look into that because it can be handy for yourself.

Elscotto you saw how many also like your photo so you earned it, now think of a good theme for the next comp

Stefan - mine are always handled through Picasa 3 but I have to upload to Flickr through My Documents/My Pictures and the EXIF seems to get lost in between.
As others have said, I would be mortified if anyone thought there was any underhandedness , the PUF is one of my pleasures in life and I would not jeopardize its integrity for the world.
