I wonder if he'll get away with exhibiting it? The pattern of lights on the Eiffel Tower is copyrighted, so any night shots of it cannot be used commercially without permission.

Cool photo though!

Maybe he could clone the tower out . Seriously though, it is a very cool photo and indeed one you might have thought the 'eiffel tower authorities' (whoever they are) might even have an interest in themselves...

If that where the case you couldn't take any skyline photos of Paris. This has been shot a long way from the tower soil cannot see the tower authorities able to take any action.

If the image was to be used for an advert or commercial use then there would I guess be issues with a property release....

An exhibition is not commercial use, neither is editorial under both English and French law.

I saw that photo yesterday and thought it was stunning. What a lucky shot!
I wonder if he used a lightning trigger to get it?

Only the lights on the tower are copyrighted.

We've had this debate before though.

I thought it was Blackpool Tower, that's just had a refurbishment and opens to the public again, today Saturday 3 September.
Not everything in life is Black & White, If only it were!

Saw the Blackpool Tower, refurbishment, on the news, I think there will be some great shots to be had, through the new glass floored platform.
Sadly Blackpool to far away for me.

Take care.
