Not exactly what I would want but I too have thought Pentax had a solid claim to a retro camera. Instead Olympus and Fuji have grabbed that market.

It would be fun to see a camera dedicated to old school manual operation. No AF and no video for the purists. Unfortunately it all starts getting very niche (low sales) but it would be fun.

Pick up an older film camera and itís a delight for the senses. Cold harsh metal, the smell of the leather cases, very tactile mechanical operation and little of the modern ergonomics with boxy frames, and massive viewfinders with light meters to aid exposure. By comparison all modern dslrs feel quite plastic and disconnected to me.

Iíve heard Pentax and users say they want to feel the fun of crafting an image, rather than electronics do all the work, but I also find that fun disappears quite quickly if I return home and find my camera hasnít focussed correctly. If features like auto focus abs video etc are included then they need to work as best as they can.

Not quite the right place to post this, but depressing all the same.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the cameraÖ they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Leica have been doing just that for years with the M series, doesnít seem to do them any harm.
