there is some dust inside my Tamron that I would be better leave where it is. However I noticed that it could be quite simple to dismantle the top glass of the lens, cleaning it and put it back. Thoughts?

I would leave well alone. The glass could be put back decentred and if you get the torque wrong when refixing you could distort the shape of the element.

I recently successfully cleaned the inside of the front element of a Tamron 28-200mm. Mind, I mislaid one of the tiny screws for a week after it bounced to goodness knows where but OK now as I eventually found it!
