Stefan & Tony, that's really most kind of you, but I wouldn't want to put anyone to any trouble; my photos aren't of sufficient quality to do that, but I find the comments to the submitted entries (when they're done!) very interesting. One can only learn!

Cheers

PS How long is a member new? If I'd bought a cabbage last July, I'd call it pretty old

The more you contribute to the site the "older" you will get............

If it were trouble I would not offer and I`m sure Stefan feels the same way.

We are ALL learning................................

Jo, like Tony said, I'm more then happy to help you or else I didn't offered it.

Don't worry about your photo not being good enough, maybe it's far better then you thought it would be, same happened to me once and I won

Just to put you out of your misery I'm going to help you.
It would be a shame if you would put all my hard work to nothing

First upload your photo.
Simply hover your mouse over the gallery button and click in the drop down menu on upload photos and follow the steps.
If everything is al right the photo should appear when you click "My Portfolio" in the top right corner.
(You've nothing there so we will use Tony portfolio.)

When you're in the portfolio you should see this link
Then click on the photo you want and it opens the photo, once again click on the photo and it opens a larger version. I've used Tony photo with the duck link

Now here comes the tricky bit since it involves which browser you use, try to right click on the photo and see if you can say open image or something along that line. If you've it you should see just the photo and a website address that ends on .jpg
If you're using internet explore then do right click on the photo and go to properties it should open a tab with information about the photo including an URL address that's what you need.

Now copy that address ending on .jpg in your comment, highlight it (select the text) and press on the Image you see when typing you comment, same place where the smilies are

you should get something that looks like this.
(img)https://www.pentaxuser.com/images/gallery/2009/11/large/who-you-calling-al-orange--_1258819830.jpg(/img)

() should be []

if everything is correct then you get to see this in your final comment when you preview or submit it.

Hopefully that does the trick for you, it sounds complicated now but you just need to do it once, the second time it's much simpler.

ps. credits for the images goes to Tony

It is related to numbers of posts

At your current rate, it might take a while to change title

Ah, you see, you're all really most human! Thank you all 3 so much. I will endeavour to have a go. My problem is that I am moving about all the time, hence I am on dial-up. Sometimes I hit a 3G area (more often than not in the middle of nowhere), most times I don't. This leads to problems, like waiting an hour or so for a low quality JPEG to load up to the competition link, which it then fails to do at 10.30pm...

Hence the lack of posts!

But thank you all

And it's nice to think that I'll be ancient before I'm past being new...

That's indeed a problem Jo, hopefully you manage to upload your photo.
All the best of luck from me

Stefan, it worked! Thank you, it was very patient of you to type the process out, it was actually far more straightforward than it seemed
And I've kept a note of the procedure...

Glad it worked Jo but somehow your photo isn't showed, could be a problem on my end since it does look good what you did.

ah wait you your URL is not good, well it's good but not 100%.
When I click on your photo this in front of 1.2.3.11/bmi/ and you should delete that, I've no idea where that came from..
The code must be this

https://www.pentaxuser.com/images/gallery/2010/03/large/these-boots-were-made-fo...

You can't edit now, I'm sure a moderator will be so helpful to fix the link for you.

Hope you don't mind.
Best regards,

Just don't make the mistake to name me instead of Jo in the comments. I don't enter the competitions any more.
Best regards,

Martin.
