Discussion for Weekly Competition # 137 - "Wood"

Sorry for the delay in posting this weeks competition - I really didn't expect to win on my first submission for a long time. My work with and for people with disabilities is sadly over for the time being and I'm now self employed back in this country making bespoke fitted furniture and doing general property maintenance. As I do a lot of work with wood, I thought it would be interesting to see other peoples perspective on this!

I now need to go away and read up all the rules so that I know what is expected of me! I believe that it is usual for the judge to post in this thread up until the first photo is submitted, so if there are any questions please let me know.

Two weeks ago I gave a talk entitled 'Wood' - I'll have to have a look through the slides...

Would ( wood ) it be cheating to re-enter an image I used in the "Textures" competition.

Your excellent entry in the textures competiton was one of the images that sprang to my mind when this subject was announced Ted. When I judged that competition I said later I wish I'd given a couple more Highly Commendeds because there were so many very good pictures. Your's was one of these.
I've never seen anything in the rules about not being able to enter the same picture again in another competition but I have noticed the same image come up again on more than one occasion - and no one complained as far as I'm aware.
