here's an interesting thought:
you slap an aps sized d lens onto a pentax fullframe dslr, and the sucker actually works, but the camera only uses the area of the sensor covered by the lens....therefore the 18 mp sensor (originally intended for the 645d) only uses 10 mp's worth of image area....then you slap on your older or nwer full frame lens to get the whole 18 mp sensor covered!

would make sense to use the r&d already paid out on the 645d and drop it into a kmount body.....
why come into the medium format market, late, and toting a pea shooter, when you can arrive at the slr market with cruise missile?
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Fits much speculation and the recent 645D statement. I expect an announcement within the next 6 weeks. If you check out the rebates offered in the US they run until the end of September, which I read as a key indicator. I believe sales of the K10D have held up better than expected, which may be explain why both SRS and Park raised their prices from 399 for a K10D body. Base price in the US from B&H is around 350 with rebates

Of course it is only speculation and may not be feasible but speculation is always fun.

Might be interested to read about the new, full frame, Nikon D3...

Two Crop Modes : DX format and 5:4 ratio. The DX crop mode can be automatically enabled when a DX lens is attached.

Nice idea though.

wasn't the 645D supposed to be full frame 6x4 though? so it's sensor wouldn't fit in a K mount body.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help
