Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Wales.

Not posted any pics here for a long time but Just got back from a few days in Wales (hence the daft title). Took the K-1, 150-450mm and Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8. Sky was a bit grey most of the time, would have liked to have got about a bit more but family always seem to get in the way of photography

Anyway, a few pictures .....

And then on to somewhere I did insist on going ... a Red kite feeding station up in the hills. The K-1 and 150-450mm did struggle with the speed of the birds but I took enough shots to get quite a few keepers (all very heavy crops). Just 3 from many.

What a great selection, you had a very rewarding trip to Wales. I particularly like the red kites in action.

I particularly like the monochromes - the lighthouse image has a great sense of space and depth to it.
And that first red kite is a stunner!

Thanks for the comments, a good few days but I must say it was great to see the red kites feeding.

That 1st bird image is fabulous! One things for sure, if I ever went to Wales I wouldn't come back with any shots like that!

Really good to see the K1 and lenses being put through their paces Mike.

Very nice bird images but the Lighthouse stands out for me. At first i thought you may have used a ND filter to achieve movement in the sky but I see it was at 1/350. Lovely image.

Those kite shots are great. I went to one near Rhayader a year or two back, ended up just having to keep taking photos, it was virtually impossible to track any of them.

Forgot about the thread, meant to say thanks to all that commented ... appreciate it.

Looks like we may be going again in March, hopefully I will get a day in the botanical gardens.

Cracking set, hard to pick a fav, but it would be 1 of the kites.
