We are seeing alerts on the web news that Cylone Bianca is due to arrive at the South West coastline early Sunday morning.

If this does occur, it will be my first "cyclone" event. Done the tornados in Oklahoma, sand storms in Iraq, snow blizzards in Russia and flash floods in Oman.

At this point in time, I actually hope it will weaken, as there has been enough damage over here with the floods in the East.

We seem to be getting some "eventful" weather at the moment.

There maybe a chance of some images depending on weather severity.

Only two days away and it's already quite windy in Perth.

Best regards

It's been another summer of misfortune, we can't seem to catch a break at the moment, if it's not drought, it's floods and if you are lucky enough to avoid them, the bushfires will get you.

What amazes me is that we have people over here deliberately starting bush fires in residential areas!

People have lost homes and livestock due to this.

Unbelievable.

It's the same every year, you get these sicko firebugs lighting fires and so many of them are members of the volunteer fire service, it defies belief how people can do such a thing.

Sorry to hear about the latest problems there in Oz. What with droughts, floods and now cyclones you are really going through it weather wise.
And more to come from what I hear thanks to La Ni˝a.

Lets hope the fires aren't too bad to add to the misery.

Hope you survive Bianca unscathed!

Australia has certainly taken its toll lately. Hopefully Bianca will treat you with care.

Gwyn: If you need local weather forecasts for Northern Norway, check out yr.no. And yes, they have an English language edition.
Best regards

Thanks for the link Terry - I hope those clouds lift for at least one night while I'm there, just to give me a fighting chance of seeing the Aurora .

Well, it is Sunday morning here in Bunbury, WA about a hundred miles south of Perth. Where is Bianca? The TV and papers have been full of cyclone stories but so far today it is a little cooler than it has been and there is a pleasant breeze - rather like a really nice summer day in my native Scotland. Maybe it has not reached here yet. Will keep you posted.

Weather bureau has cancelled Cyclone watch. Ex TC Bianca is not apparent on satellite images. Wind is blowing but may just be the "Fremantle Doctor".
Will be a shame if we don't get some rain tonight! A sunny day today with the main effect being some reasonable summer surf.

I took the family to the beach today here in Newcastle. Perfect conditions. 8 year old son had a ball. I don't mean to whinge, but this summer in my area has been very dry. It's rained north, South, and West of us, but coastal mid-NSW is bone dry, except for high humidity. I just wish it would rain!!

Yes I always bring a camera - K-r this time. I have quite a few photos of Bunbury and the surrounding area and of course of my two Australian grandchildren. Since I retired it has been an annual trip so my wife and I have visited most of the Australian cities. Lots of photographic opportunities.
