So, I need some opinions on this lens.

All I red on the net has been pretty good.
How much would you say it's worth?
The last one I saw on eBay went for ~81.

I already have a 135mm and I like the focal length but that lens is really bad and I would love to change it to this Zeiss lens.

One of my all-time favourite lenses and one of the best 135mm's ever made in my opinion.

As for price, I've seen quite a few selling around the 60-80 mark recently but if you're patient then you should be able to get one for less than this; I'd say around 35-50 would be about right for a good example. Try and find one that finishes on a Sunday afternoon as all my bargain buys come on Sundays when there are fewer last-minute bidders around.

Is it worth it? Yes! But watch out for sticking apertures (ask the seller if the blades snap in and out of position easily). These can be fixed (I've mended a couple now) but it's time consuming and quite tricky so better to pay a little more for a fully working one.

You won't be disappointed with the image quality!

Excuse my ignorance, but are these available in K-mount, or do you use an adapter?

Only M42 George, but you can always leave the adapter on.
The M42 lenses(with A/M switch)have one advantage though...
You can use them in AV mode. The K's and M's only work stopped down by using the green button in M(anual) metering mode. For some that's a plus.

Martin.
Best regards,

Martin.

Thank you Hefty.
My biggest problem is that I really bad want it and want it before I go on holiday trip to Croatia.
So I don't have that much of patience atm
I will however notice your nice tip on auctions ending on sunday afternoons

Also thx for the info about this lens, I will most likely be plesed if I win this auction.

Now I can confirm that this lens really rocks!
If you want to check out how it produces just check my latest contributions in my portfolio.

Takes a while to get used to manual focusing but this baby makes it worth it.

Only edited three pics taken with it on my vaccation so far but I allready love it.

Indeed I do, some of the pics I took with this is ALOT better (sharper) than I thought was possible with this lens, and it really make my K10 feel like a pro camera
