I don't think either is better than the other!

I have used both and find them both very useable. I guess it's what you find best for yourself. Both are great programs!

I would be careful purchasing from that website. If you read their FAQ

Q - Where is the serial number located on the CS3 product?

A - Please browse the DVD itself, the serial number is located in the folder marked serial number. It is also on the back of the case.

Adobe do not put serial numbers in a folder on their DVD, as all DVD's are identical which would mean there was only one serial number.
Pirate software usually has serial numbers on the DVD/CD itself, as they all use the same hacked serial number.

Also you will note there is no telephone number or address on the contact us page.

CS3 is expensive, and anything too good to be true usually is

My personal choice of RAW converter is Silkypix Developer Studio Pro.

Capture One is still excellent - not as full featured as Silkypix, but still excellent results.

Adobe bridge - nah. I don't rate it that highly personally, but others find they can get good results.

For a well priced and legal photographic solution I would say start with the Pentax supplied software (it's based on Silkypix), consider using Silkypix Developer Studio 3 or Pro, and get Photoshop Elements along with

That will cover most photographic requirements and allow you to follow a majority of tutorials on the web (and if you ever afford the full Adobe Photoshop then you don't have to relearn a great deal)

I strongly agree with Tim.

To be honest, I didn't click on the link as I have far to many windows open as it is, but anyone that states to look in a folder marked "Serial Number" is bound to be illegal.

Most of the time, cracked software codes turn out to be dodgy. Unless the program itself has been altered so that codes do not need to be used. It sounds like, and I say sounds like as I don't want to accuse anyone, that this company has in fact gotten hold of their programs fraudulently and are selling at a large profit.

Be very wary of places like this as you will be the one who will be in schtuck if the old bill comes knocking, ok thats a worse case scenario!

Anyway I prefer CS3 & CS4 for my RAW as they are the only ones I have ever used. Personally I have never installed the Pentax software as I have never needed to, again, personal choice

Ok its just I've had my main computer stolen along with my Photoshop software thank god I had the good fortune to have my laice hard drive and laptop with me. My laptop is second-hand and has a copy of Photoshop on it (I have not got a disc for Photoshop). The laptop is good but I don't get a true image (face seem to be to long)

So as you can see Im in a bit of a dilemma with a second copy of Photoshop but I am rebuilding my kit I now have a dell with a 19 screen (THIS IS COOL) insurance will not pay out, with no receipts for software. To top it of my ccard was cloned on holiday (bad six months, but hay thats life) Oyes caravan accident on the way home from holiday insurance only willing to pay 7k when it is worth 12k put I still have wife and kid in good health (8 mile from home, when we had the accident) all this in the same two week life has a good sense of humour

When I look in to the caravan damage their was my camera bag mm from the lorry bumper. How lucky not a scratch on it and all in working order
